Helen Back

Well, Helen had enough of my drinkin'

And boarded a flight to L.A

I heard she's in a motel in Marina Del Rey

She told me where I could go

When she walked out the door

So I went and bought me a round-trip ticket

Down at the liquor store

Now I've been to hell and back

Tryin' to get Helen back

But she don't answer calls at 2 a.m

I'd put this bottle down

Right now if she walked in

'Cause my idea of heaven

Is Helen back again

So I booked a flight and went out there

Not knowin' where she'd be

But all I found was a bar downtown

In sunshine and misery

And passed out on the flight back to Tennessee

Now I've been to hell and back

Tryin' to get Helen back

But she don't answer calls at 2 a.m

I'd put this bottle down

Right now if she walked in

'Cause my idea of heaven

Is Helen back again

I'd put this bottle down

Right now if she walked in

'Cause my idea of heaven

Is Helen back again

Oh, my idea of heaven

Is Helen back again
