Chill of December

Temperature's dropping

Soon there'll be snow on the ground

That fireplace is popping

Seems so loud when no one's around

The weatherman's forecasting record-low temps around here

Yeah, the chill of December really hits different this year

All the neighborhood houses are lit up like the Fourth of July

And there's frost on the windows, and it's dark as a dungeon at mine

As the bitter winds blow, the truth's never been so crystal clear

That the chill of December really hits different this year

It's just the start of winter

And already the shivers have made it here to Tennessee

And the cold and the lonely

Cuts to the bone without you and your sweet love beside me, hmm

Well, I could get up and put another log on the fire

Get into a bottle and pretend I'm the one you desire

The warmth of your body on another man brings me to tears

Yeah, the chill of December really hits different this year

Mmm yeah, the chill of December really hits different this year
