Sip in the Right Direction

One step forward, knockin' two drinks back

She said, "Bye-bye, baby," broke my heart in half

Gonna take some time and some ice and some Gentleman Jack

To get this train wreck back on track

I'm just tryna take a sip in the right direction

Little bit closer to forgettin'

Since she left right and left me, no, my head ain't been right

So pour me one more poor-me lesson

Ain't quite there yet, but I reckon

It's a sip in the right direction tonight, yeah

As long as one less teardrop drops to the floor

I'll be a hair of the dog better than I was before

Hey, I got low expectations, it's just a shit situation

I still miss her when I walk out the door

I'm just tryna take a sip in the right direction

Little bit closer to forgettin' (I'm just tryna forget)

Since she left right and left me, no, my head ain't been right

So pour me one more poor-me lesson

Ain't quite there yet, but I reckon

It's a sip in the right direction tonight

Here we go

Ice-cold

Little more

That's good

I know that one good night

Ain't gonna make it all alright

Yeah, it ain't like I can just up and unlove her

But I can put one shot in front of the other

I'm just tryna take a sip in the right direction

Little bit closer to forgettin'

Since she left right and left me, no, my head ain't been right

So pour me one more poor-me lesson

Ain't quite there yet, but I reckon

It's a sip in the right direction tonight (yeah)

I'm just tryna take a sip in the right direction

Little bit closer to forgettin' (yeah, I'm just tryna forget)

Since she left right and left me, no, my head ain't been right (yeah)

So pour me one more poor-me lesson (one more, one more)

Ain't quite there yet, but I reckon (one more lesson)

It's a sip in the right direction tonight

I won't be sober or over her come closin' time

But it's a sip in the right direction tonight

Yeah, ah
