Last Day of Summer

I think you're funny

You think I'm smart

'Cause I can name the planets

All by heart

Almost touching

But, too shy to start

Eyes wide open

It's way past dark

It's too late to sleep now

The valley's wide awake

The early train's pulling out

Too wired to come down

It's the last day of summer

And the first kiss on my lover's mouth

Ooh, ooh

Did you get married

Or did you wait?

Did you ever build that house?

Down by the lake?

Nights still find me

Lying awake

'Cause every time I close my eyes

I see your face

It's too late to sleep now (it's too late to sleep now)

The valley's wide awake

The early train's pulling out

Too high to come down (too high to come down)

The last day of summer

Was the first kiss on my lover's mouth

Oh, the last time we were together

Is the first thing I remember

Every time September comes

Oh, but it's too late to sleep now

The last day of summer

And the first kiss on my lover's mouth

Ooh, ooh

Ooh, ooh

The last time we were together

Is the first thing I remember

Every time September comes

The last time we were together

Is the first thing I remember

Every time September comes

But, it's too late to sleep now

It's the last day of summer

And the first kiss on my lover's mouth
