I Won't Be There That Day

When the sun sets west and the birds fly south

When you can't rest in a stranger's house

And you can taste it in your mouth

Well I won't, I won't be there that day

You're heading north but you're looking east

Searching for that missing puzzle piece

You're trying to force the famine to feast

But I won't, I won't be there that day

So come on, come on, throw it all away

Save your heart for a rainy day

For no one knows the price you'll pay

But I won't, I won't be there that day

When the tide rolls in and your luck runs out

When it's sink or swim

When it's drink or draught

You can rest assured

You can have no doubt

That I won't, I won't be there that day

So come on, come on, throw it all away

Save your heart for a rainy day

For no one knows the price you'll pay

But I won't, I won't be there that day

No, I won't, I won't be there that day
