Because when I heard him talking about this, I was devastated
"I Don't Wanna Write This Song" was an attempt at having "Mercy
2.0" On the second record. We didn't know that she was gonna
Die in the song until after we wrote it a different way and then
Revisited the third verse. It's the first song we've ever written
Where we kill the girl off in the song, but as we were listening
To it as a breakup song it just seemed like it was missing
Something, and so three writers who have never lost a spouse
We kinda made ourselves cry too, so I hope there are people out
There that it speaks to and it's one of my favorites on the record
It is an absolutely beautiful song, but I have to say in some ways I
Hope people can't relate to this song because it is absolutely
