Overnight Low

Took my time coming home tonight

There was ice on the roads

What's the rush?

'Cause it ain't like there's someone waiting there at home

Turned on the evening news

They're calling for more snow

They expect a record-breaking overnight low

Lord, for once that old weatherman is right

It's gonna be one cold and lonely night

I'll stoke the fire and settle in

'Cause in my heart I know

I'm headed for a record-breaking overnight low

I remember winter nights

Wrapped up in your arms

Drafty house and frozen pipes

Oh, but you kept me warm

And as cold out as it is tonight

Looks like I'm on my own

Already down and headed for an overnight low

Lord, for once that old weatherman is right

It's gonna be one cold and lonely night

I'll stoke the fire and settle in

'Cause in my heart I know

I'm headed for a record-breaking overnight low

So I'll stoke the fire and settle in

'Cause in my heart I know

It's gonna be a record-breaking overnight low

I'm headed for a record-breaking overnight low
