About Honestly - Commentary

Honestly, is probably the most different song on this album

And it's partly most theatrical or dramatic

And I usually don't do songs that are that intense, uh, production wise

Like lyrically, I've done that but not with production

And Greg Kirsten did that, and I really wanted him to make it

My whole reference like that, I kept telling him as I want it

'Cause the demo wasn't originally as like radio head

And as, eh, theatrical radio head, as it is now

And uh, I'm highly influenced by people like that, I love Radiohead

They're one of my favourite bands, and I love the intensity factor in their music

And we really pulled from that for the-, the song, Honestly

Eh, speak, musically speaking, and the song is just so killer

It's just like, you know, that's cool, you can judge me

You can love me, you can do whatever you want

But at least do it honestly

Like don't be doing the same thing over the corner

And tell me not to do it, you know that kind of thing

Or, or judge me on a completely different level that, that's not fair

And I think everyone relates to that, and that's why I picked the song

And it's just fun to sing, so, it's a whaler
