He must make a livin' for a wife and child who wait for him at home

He never roams

And life is just a burden for his head

So he aches inside from all that goes unsaid

And his sweet dear Anna-Lee

She couldn't see his needs were changing

And he needed so much more than she could give

For him, the days were much too long

It was early spring a letter came
