Sail Across The Mountain

As the day begins, it finds me wonderin'

what to do with myself.

You came here, you left your mark, you disappeared,

now there is nobody else.

Time was we sailed across the mountain.

The song of the sky made my body rejoice.

Time was we sailed across the mountain.

Sailed across the mountain,

and the sun was in my voice.

I need someone to come along and

take this weight right of my shoulder before I fall.

You were here, but now you've gone.

The summer came and slept away from under us all.

Time was we sailed across the mountain.

The mist cleared away and I saw your face there.

Time was we sailed across the mountain.

Sailed across the mountain,

and the sun was in your hair.

The mountainside is very steep,

can't go on, I've tried to sleep.

Somebody lay me down.

If you don't climb, you're gonna fall,

catch your wary dreams at all.

A-a-ah, yeah (somebody lay me down).

Back in the ground,

yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah.

Somebody lay me down.

I need somebody (somebody lay me down).

Need somebody to lay me down,

yeah-yeah-yeah-yeah,

somebody to lay me down.

How I got here I can't say.

It was my own fault,

I admit that I should have learned.

From watching others I have seen

it's either up or down,

there can be no in-between.

Time was we sailed across the mountain.

To think it could last can't have been very wise.

Time sent me falling down the mountain.

Falling down the mountain,

for the sun was in my eyes.
