Little You & I

"Little You & I"

I wrote this song for my cat

He's just sittin' on my bed, while I played the music

If the song sucked, he would get up and leave, ya know?

So I had to play on something mellow, soothing

So I wrote it in two stages, you know?

The first stage is the cat falling asleep, right?

And the second stage is the dream life of the kitty, feline

See you close your eyes

And you say goodnight, I say, in your own special way

And you, while you rest your head, yeah

And you say you rest, you rest your mind sometime

And there you go

There you go so so so fast asleep

There you go so so so fast away

There you are without a care when or where

But there you are I swear without a care where you lay

Shh

Meow Meow Meow

Did I kill the song for anyone right there, heh?

Everyone was like "That was our song for my boyfriend and I, and it's about a cat"

That's why cat comes into the bedroom while you're having sex and says "hey there"

Say spiraling, spiraling spaces tangled up, up in moments of touching time

Trying to find some somewhere sleeping sideways

Pockets full of nothing, and head exploding from the mind

Too much time for dancing in our hair

Sister don't be shy between little you and I

Time for solo

Mouths in line, tears in beside

And we're gonna weep in between the sleep

Until we float away into broken promises

That are too much too hard to keep

And we would sell our souls to the devil if he promised us hell

It's something we already know so well

And it's right on, I said it's right, I said right on the tip of our tongue

I said I said it's something big that has already begun, already begun

And I'm singing it

Oh mouths in line, tears beside

Oh and we're gonna weep in between the sleep

Until we float away

Until we float away into broken prom-

Oh love, broken promises

Said, broken promises

Said, broken

Broken

Broken promises

Said, broken

Broken

Broken promises

Oh my

Just little you and I, oh my my

I had no way

Oh my my

I had no idea
