Dancing Through Life - Live from the Dolby Theatre

Hello, everyone, oh, aren't you nice?

Ho, everyone, I know we're all having fun tonight but this is actually a huge night for me

I don't know if you noticed but I originally went out for Fiyero

I didn't get the part because Jon M. Chu said that I was "too conventionally attractive"

And that "Rejection would make me a better Pfannee"

That's the name of my character, did you know that? Most poeple don't

But he was nice enough to let me be FIyero's understudy

Which many have told mе is not a job in movies

But, seeing as Jonathan Bailey couldn't be hеre tonight

I'm proud to be your Fiyero this evening

And all I have to say is

The trouble with schools is they always try to teach the wrong lesson

Believe me, I've been kicked out of enough of them to know

They want you to become less callow, less shallow

But I say, why invite stress in?

Stop studying strife

And learn to live the unexamined life

Dancing through life, skimming the surface

Gliding where turf is smooth

Life's more painless for the brainless

Why think too hard when it's so soothing?Dancing through life, no need to tough it

When you can slough it off as I do

Nothing matters, but knowing nothing matters

It's just life, so keep dancing through

Hey, Bowen

Ethan, what the Boq are you doing?

Nice job working my character name into the segment, but tonight, I'm Fiyero's understudy

No, I'm Fiyero's understudy

According to who?

According to Chu, Jon M. Chu

Hey, what does the M stand for?

I think movies?[BOWEN YANG, spoken]

Yeah, movies

Get those Fiyero duds off of you right now

Wait, hold on, Bowen

I think I hear our cue coming up

Dancing through life, swaying and sweeping

And always keeping cool

Life is fraughtless when you're thoughtless

Those who don't try never look foolish

Dancing through life, mindless and careless

Make sure you're where less trouble is rife

Woes are fleeting, blows are glancing

When you're dancing through life

Woah, Melissa

What inthe Nessa are you doing here?

I'm the Fiyero understudy[BOWEN YANG, spoken]

No, you are not

What are you saying? A woman can't play Fiyero?

No, I think all women should play all roles, you know this about me

So, what's the big problem?

Well, we can't all be Fiyero, it's a little bit confusing

It's really not, tonight's our night and there's no rule that says we can't all be Fiyero

Maybe Marissa is right

Yeah, maybe Marissa is right because Fiyero isn't just a person, he is a feeling

The feeling of wanting attention, we can all relate to that

Let's do as all Fiyeros do

Let's go down to the Ozdust Ballroom

We'll meet there later tonight

We can dance till it's light

Find the prettiest girl, give her a whirl

Right on down to the Ozdust Ballroom

Come on, follow me

You'll be happy to be there

Dancing through life down at the Ozdust

If only because dust is what we come to

Nothing matters, but knowing nothing matters

It's just life (Ah, ah)

It's just life

So keep dancing through

You're good

You're good

You're good

No, no, oh

You're good

You're good

You're good

We're good

Dancing through life here at the Ozdust

If only because dust is what we come to

While you're dancing through
