Don't Break Your Promise To Me

Don't break your promise to me

You told me that you love me, girl, you love me

Promises are made to keep, ooh-ooh-ooh

I tried to be a knight in shinin' armour

Dreams come true

Your swinging love and shoulder

I did all the things you asked me to

You said our love would never ever change

Our feelings would remain the same

So, why you wanna leave me, why?

Don't break your promise to me

You told me that you love me, girl, you love me

Promises are made to keep, ooh-ooh-ooh

And like a story-book love, you showered me with affection

You gave me diamonds and pearls and all your worldly possessions

You did it all to keep me happy

Knowing I'd be here right here with you

I guess that there's a lesson to be learned

The pages of love have turned

I'm the one who needs you most, why?

Don't break your promise to me

You told me that you love me, girl, you love me

Promises are made to keep, ooh-ooh-ooh

We built a dream we thought would last forever

Our love has been tried and tested

And has been through much stormy weather

But if it takes me to push my pride aside, I'll get down on my knees

And with no hesitation, I'll say baby, please, please don't go

Now, a promise is supposed to be a sacred thing

When two people share that magic moment, ooh yeah

Words that mean a lot are soon forgotten, baby

How I wish they were never, never, never spoken

I need you now, I need you here

Oh, I had so much love to give

But you took that love for granted, yes, you did

Without giving it a chance to grow and grow and grow and grow, oh

Don't break your promise, to me

Don't break your promise to me

See, I love you, I need you

Don't break your promise to me
