Murders in the Rue Morgue - Live '82

I remember when this place was fair

Though it hadn't been the time of night

I was strolling through the streets of my head

It was cold, it was starting to rain

I got a heard a piercing scream

And I rushed to the scene of the crime

But on the ground was nothing to remain

Just a ghost and a landslide

Yeah, murder's in the rumor

Running from the sound of

Yeah, murder's in the rumor

He told me that the place was free

There's some people coming down the street

About the seven hoodlums

Can't understand what they're pointing at me

I never done nothing at all

When I got shot through the head

I heard everybody shouting at me

Cast me back so I couldn't explain

Like a fool I started running away

Yeah, murder's in the rumor

Never gonna find me

Murder's in the rumor

Running from the arm of the law

Now I gotta get away from the arm of the law

All the cops are looking for me

I gotta find my way across the border for sure

Got myself to wait on me

Murder's in the rumor

Never gonna find me

Murder's in the rumor

Running from the arm of the law

When I made it to the bottom of the last

And I got the roof to sleep on my back

Every time somebody scares at me

Well I just start running blind

Now I move through the shadows at night

To the wave of the staring eyes

And they're trying to come looking for me

'Cause they know that I showed the signs

Yeah, murder's in the rumor

Never gonna find me

Murder's in the rumor

Running from the arm of the law

Murder's in the rumor

Never gonna find me

Murder's in the rumor

Running from the arm of the law

It took so long and I gained some time

And I'm running out of places to hide

Should I return to the scene of the crime

Where the two young victims died?

If I could go and put somebody to hell

Then I'd definitely have a trouble for sure

But I know every time I run

I might die for sinning dirty before

Murder's in the rumor

Never gonna find me

Murder's in the rumor

Murder's gonna find home
