Blame It On A Backroad - Commentary

Whoo, I hope that Thomas has good breath control so he can sing that one live

It's "Put It On Ice" featuring HARDY off his "Country Again (Side A)" album

Which is available now

And I remember one time somebody said if I'm ever late it's 'cause I saw a dog

Meaning they got distracted, they stopped and they pet the dog

And that kinda reminds me of this next song and the sentiment behind it

So Thomas tell people about "Blame It On A Backroad"

"Blame It On A Backroad", really is just a song about just getting lost

While you're driving, and I feel like

For me those days are very few and far between for me

Where I do get a chance to just ride out to the farm and

And just get to sit there and think for a little while

But like on the way out there, I'll just turn up some of my favorite music, roll the windows down

And those are the moment where I do feel like just free

Uh, and just alive, being able to get into the car and take a road trip

Whether it's just me by myself or me and my wife

That was just one of the songs that I felt would fit so well in a live show

And I haven't done anything like that in a very long time

And so, "Blame It On The Backroad" is just kind of a

Song about, you know, if I get lost and you don't hear from me for eight or ten hours

You can blame it on me just disappearing down some side street

Or some dirt road, and I will be back

But for now, this is where I'm gonna go think

And this is where I'm gonna get lost in for a little while

I feel like cranking up Thomas Rhett's album driving down one of those backroads

Would be a perfect way to spend your day

I mean the album's not that long, but you can put in on repeat

And you could be driving down a backroad while you're listening to "Blame It On A Backroad"
