Tell 'Em About Tonight

Someday these lights are gonna fade

Some other good old boy'll be on this stage

But the only place you might see my name

Is on a T-shirt in a closet takin' up space

Yeah, someday they won't wanna turn me up

And them records on the wall start to rust

What I never thought I'd do turns into what I've done

And I get to reminiscin' on my time in the sun

'Bout the boys in the back with the beers up high

And the girls in the front row singin' every line

I'm gonna think about them lighters way up in the sky

And how we rode that rocket as far as it could fly

Yeah, when somebody someday way on down the line

Says, "Tell me something you're proud of

When you think about your life"

I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout my kids, I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout my wife

And you're damn right, I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout tonight

I'll think about guitars roarin' out the speakers

And cowboy boots stompin' in the bleachers

And that feelin' in the air lightin' that live wire

Dreamers dancin' in the dark with their hearts on fire

And the boys in the back with the beers up high

And the girls in the front row singin' every line

I'm gonna think about them lighters way up in the sky

And how we rode that rocket as far as it could fly

Yeah, when somebody someday way on down the line

Says, "Tell me something you're proud of

When you think about your life"

I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout my kids, I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout my wife

And you're damn right, I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout tonight

Here's to the boys in the back with the beers up high

And the girls in the front row singin' every line

I'm gonna think about them lighters way up in the sky

And how we rode that rocket as far as it could fly

Yeah, when somebody someday way on down the line

Says, "Tell me something you're proud of

When you think about your life"

I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout my kids, I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout my wife

And you're damn right, I'm gonna tell 'em 'bout tonight

Tell 'em 'bout tonight

Tell 'em 'bout tonight

Tell 'em 'bout tonight
