Tailgates Of Heaven

I stopped by old man Dolby's store

For cold ones on the way

We bagged 'em up, and dropped 'em down

Out back, by our old place

It won't take long

A simple man's on

Somebody says your name

And I can't help but wonder

If you're up there, doin' the same

Sippin' on a cold gold can

Reminiscin' with some long-lost friends

Blowin' smoke 'n' jokin', laughin' 'bout the hell we raised down here

Do you ever get to kick it with the man?

Did he tell you when he's comin' back again?

Does he sing along to Skynyrd on 11?

On the tailgates of heaven

Well, almost everything in this old fire has burned before

Some midnight memories, black beer cans

And that bourbon bottle's yours

It's the same old boys, same old story, stretchin' out the truth

We all know somethin's missin', and brother, we all know it's you

Sippin' on a cold gold can

Reminiscin' with some long-lost friends

Blowin' smoke 'n' jokin' laughin' 'bout the hell we raised down here

Do you ever get to kick it with the man?

Did he tell you when he's comin' back again?

Does he sing along to Skynyrd on 11?

On the tailgates of heaven

On the tailgates of heaven

Remember when we thought that nights like this would last forever?

Well, I still believe they do

They just go down somewhere better

Sippin' on a cold gold can

Reminiscin' with some long-lost friends

Blowin' smoke 'n' jokin' laughin' 'bout the hell we raised down here

Do you ever get to kick it with the man?

Did he tell you when he's comin' back again?

Does he sing along to Skynyrd on 11?

Yeah, tell Saint Pete

To save me a seat

On the tailgates of heaven

On the tailgates of heaven
