Head Down Low

He's just a young man tired of livin' 'neath his mama

Wanna to make a name of his own

She begged him baby don't you leave but if you got to

Go on and keep your head down low

He ran on down that highway, He's westward hauling

One day he crossed the snake

It's eyes were calling Lord he's running while he's falling

He couldn't hear the rattle shake

He ain't been home, He ain't been home, He ain't been home

Since he took that bait

Sped past the sunset through the night he went a flyin'

His trouble is on the rise

HIs heart that once was filled with fire now is dyin'

His blood's as cold as ice

His mother cried save his soul, but he won't shed a tear no more

His mother cried save his soul, and he won't shed a tear no more

And he ain't been home

Ain't been home

Ain't been home
