That's What the Man Said

Now a still small voice spoke to me last night

And his tone was soft and gentle

Though I could not see him he was there all right

And his words were monumental

Now if you can't go to sleep without counting sheep

Here's a thought for you and it isn't very deep

And try to realize an humble mood

Insomnia is the lack of gratitude

That's what the man said

That's what the man said

That's what the man said last night

And I know today he was absolutely right

No one would ever have a worried mind

If they'd just do good and be a little kind

Add up every blessing beneath the sun

And thank the Lord for each and every one

That's what the man said

That's what the man said

That's what the man said last night

And I know today he was absolutely right

Tomorrow and tomorrow

Creeps into this veil of tears

We run from sorrow to sorrow

Flound'ring through the years

When every plan we make seems to go amiss

They all work out if we just remember this

No matter where you go and what you do

Be sure to take the Lord along with you

That's what the man said

That's what the man said

That's what the man said last night

And I know today he was absolutely right

You've heard what the man said
