Say Goodbye to Superman

I'm down on my knees, tryin' hard to find the answers

And not for me, you know, it's for our little boy

You see, his daddy was the hero of his life

But me I can't forgive him, and go on livin' with the lies

Lord, I need your help so that I can help him

Say goodbye to Superman when he learns he couldn't fly

Finds out he's just a man, who gave into his Kryptonite

And when he sees his hero fall, will he know it's not his fault?

Oh I pray some day he'll understand

God help me find a way so he can say, say goodbye to Superman

Where do I find the words to answer all his questions?

How can I tell him that his dad's not coming home?

I feel his heartbreak as he waits for his return

There's some things in life a little boy should never learn

God I need your help, so that I can help him

Say goodbye to Superman when he learns he couldn't fly

Finds out he's just a man, who gave into his Kryptonite

And when he sees his hero fall, will he know it's not his fault?

I'm prayin' that some day he'll understand

Oh, God, help me find a way so he can say, say goodbye to Superman

Lord I need your strength to help me make it through

'Cause the man who was his Superman, was my Superhero too

God help me!

Say goodbye to Superman 'cause I learned he couldn't fly

Found out he's just a man, who gave into his Kryptonite

And when we see our hero fall, oh we know it's not our fault

Prayin' that some day we'll understand

Oh 'cause things don't always turn out like we planned

Lord help me find a way so we can say, say goodbye to Superman
