When the Special Girlfriend

This cabaret jazz song celebrating a lesbian affair is an English translation of the German song “Wenn die beste Freundin.”

(Duet)

When the special girl friend

Meets a special girl friend

For a little shopping shop the shop hopping

Shopping without stopping

There's no greater pleasure

Than to shop together

And the special girl friend

Tells the special girl friend

"You're my special girl friend"

Oh you're my favorite girl friend

My sweet and pretty girl friend

I trust you my girl friend

To keep our secrets girl friend

When the special girl friend

Meets a special girl friend

With great tenderness she'll tell her friend she's special

Oh my special

Oh my special girl friend

(Spoken)

So what does my special girl friend say about that?[WOMAN 2]

Well, I can I only tell you one thing. If I didn't have you, we'd get on so well

Oh, how well we get on together. It's almost unbearable how well we get on together

Yeah

There's only one other person I get on so well with

[WOMAN 2}

Huh

My sweet little man

Yes, with your sweet little man

Ah!

(Duet)

Oh my man

What a man

But a man's

Just a man

Still a man

With a frown

When he can

Sure knows how

Just last week had her boyfriend had her in a whirl

That romance is over, she's dropped him for a girl(Spoken)

Well, your sweet little man is a little pushy

Oh, yeah?

Yes, absolutely

Why?

Well, I find

Well, how come?

Well, he does these things

Oh, I don't approve of that at all

Well, well[WOMAN 2]

Oh!

Come on, let's kiss and make up

Okay, love, let's make up

(Duet)

Just last week

Her boyfriend had her in a whirl

That romance is over

She's dropped him for a girl

When the special girl friend

Meets a special girl friend

With great tenderness she'll tell her friend she's special

Oh my special

Oh my special girl friend
