I've been led to the slaughter

Ignored like the warning

Scattered and twisted

Anointed with algae

Curled up at the altar

Where I hoped that you would find me

From the muddy banks

These calcified relics

Are all that you could take from me

Deny these

These selfish thoughts

Of safety and identity

And all that I have wrought

I'm drawing parallels between

Myself and dead men again

But mostly with death
