There's A Way In The Manger

In the middle of December

At an ol' country church

The preacher told the story

About a virgin birth

Of how we grew into a man

And the way He lived His life

But what move me deep within my heart

Is why He had to die

No ordinary baby child

Was laid within that hay

"The savior of the world was born"

I heard the preacher say

There's a way in the manger

For those who are lost

There's a way in the manger

And it leads to the cross

Now, there's a humble servant

He left His father's side

To be laid in a manger

Worthy and most divine

The scene within that stable

It shows how we must come

Humbly as a little child

To know the Father's Son

I'm not makin' light of Christmas

God bless me to the tear

But what leads us to heaven

Is the road to calvary

There's a way in the manger

For those who are lost

There's a way in the manger

And it leads to the cross

There's a way in the manger

For those who are lost

There's a way in the manger

And it leads to the cross
