Tigers, Snakes, & Strangers

I dunno, we were sitting up late at night

In this- in this- this uh, in this little, sort of- thing

And we had a song going, which was a kinda,

Calypso-ehy type song at the time

And I just, um, listening to the rhythms of it

Came up with the title, so-, um, 'something and the ragged tiger'

Which was of 'Romand and the ragged tiger'

'Running with a ragged tiger'

Umm, oh

And suddenly someone said "Seven!"

I think it was Ian, actually

I thought 'Seven and the Ragged Tiger'

Yeah, 'Seven and the Ragged Tiger!'

And it became the title of, as well as the songs

Which are going to be on the album

That, since- since then, that's been changed

The song has developed into, sort of- 'The Seventh Stranger'

But we kept the title because it sounds so interesting

It's sort of sounds like an adventure story

Umm, it's the third biggest hit we've ever had

It- um, it was a bit more, uhm-

Obscure, I guess in some respects

Than some of our previous materials

Certainly not as, obvious as the one that went to number one here

'Some'ing I should know'

Uhh, it's actually my favourite single we've released to date

Its sort of, it did- in-fact, what it did was it sold an awful lot of copies, in the first week

And the competition was very tough up top

And then, obviously the next week, it sails because it's also many wer- weren't as high

But, I don't- I so- I don't regard it as a failure, I think it was a big hit for us

An-uhh every song you make, cant really get in number one, anyway

If we- If we'd- we'd had- if that one had gone straight in at number one

Then I-

Just imagine- just imagine what the crash would have been like when the next one didn't! You know

Yeah, exactly yeah

I think we'd be spoiled little, brats

If we couldn't come to terms with something like that

I mean-, I also- I also do think that, uh, one of that was above us

For example: the Lionel Ritchie song

I mean, it's a great song, anyway, I mean

It- it- it was very good

Umm, I- I think that, as long as we keep having hits

I don't mind if one of them's number fifteen, and one of them's number ten,

And one of them numbers one, and another ones number three

Umm, I wa- I was very happy with 'The Union of The Snake'
