Good News Travels Fast

Well, no one mess with Buster Brown

Unless you want to fight

Not a mean or rascal

Well-known county wide

Well, I was there when it happened

Friend, I saw it all

The night the big man lumbered down

To the altar call

He rose up a brand-new man, salvation in his soul

The congregation stood in shock at the mighty tears that rolled

It put saints and sinners talking

What a change had come about

Word spread quick as fire

In a blazin' summer drought

Good news (good news), good news travels fast

Good news (good news), good news really travels fast

The night that God erased his past

Good news travels fast

Three wise men were travelling

From a foreign land

Following a bright star on the way to Bethlehem

Angels all around them

And shepherds blew their horns

Announcin' to the whole wide world

A baby King is born

Good news (good news), good news travels fast

Good news (good news), good news really travels fast

There's a Saviour here at last

Good news travels fast

On that resurrection morning

When the stone was rolled away

Two women came to see Him

They were tremblin' and afraid

Overcome with joy, they started running back to town

Telling His disciples of the empty tomb they found

Good news (good news), good news travels fast

Good news (good news), good news really travels fast

He's alive and someday coming back

Good news (good news), good news travels fast

Good news (good news), good news really travels fast

He's alive and someday coming back

Good news travels fast
