I Like The Sound Of That - Commentary

It's kind of interesting when you think about where Rascal Flatts
Is in their career. They have a song out called "How They
Remember You." They are winding down as they celebrate 20 years
As a band. And so I did ask them, "What would you hope your legacy
In country music is? How do you want people to remember you?"
I think it's an awesome question, and, um, I think we've been working
On that for the past 20 years, I really do. I think a lot of the
Times throughout the past 20 years, it's something we weren't
Thinking about, though. And I think that some of the most special
Moments, and some of the most special music we created was the
Ones we're just, like, living in the moment, and just being artists
And being a band, and living out this amazing journey that's got
Us to now. But I would hope that when we do lay it down, that
The fans, um, remember us for being true to ourselves and making
Music that is hopefully impactful, and music that'll live out
Way longer than what we can ever tour for, or be a part of. Most
Importantly, though, is the charitable aspect of what Rascal Flatts
Has been able to do. We've been so blessed beyond belief, and to
Be able to give back to our main charity, the Vanderbilt Children's
Hospital in Nashville, is the real legacy piece for us. So
Hopefully, that is remembered as well, and, uh, most importantly
Yeah, if you didn't know, Rascal Flatts, throughout their career
They helped donate over three million dollars to Vanderbilt
Children's Hospital, and the hospital actually honored them
By naming the surgery wing the Rascal Flatts Surgery Wing
So, I'm thinking if you're going to leave a legacy behind
That is a pretty impressive one. This is "I Like the Sound
Of That" off 20 Years of Rascal Flatts: The Greatest Hits
