Sweet Reminder

On the first night

rain was falling

Light was filtering

through dust

There was silence

there was stillness

There was everything at once

Sweet reminder:

what we’re living

is a miracle itself

Can't unwind it

can't unbuild it

capturing us from the start

Pay attention

to the focus

where to focus

is the trick

Let your mind

return to stillness

within stillness

is the self

Sweet reminder:

what we're living

is a miracle itself

Sweet reminder

just to witness

as the story writes itself

Underneath our captivation

is a simple guarded truth

Sweet reminder:

what we're living

is a miracle itself
