Checkin' Up On My Baby

Checkin' up on my baby

You know I got to find out what's been goin' down

Checkin' up on my babe

I got to find out what's been goin' down

So many nights and so many days, people

Since the blues happened in my town

I had me a little job

Workin' down the coast away

Yes, I had me a little job, baby

And I was workin' down the coast away

And you know I was a little bit worried

I want to know what my baby say

And you know I did not even call

And I did not, I did not even write

No, I did not even call, baby

Now, you know your man did not write

He was lookin' for his baby

And she gonna come on that same night

Wonder what you do, baby

That make me feel, make me feel so good

And you know I wonder what you do, babe

That make me feel so good

And you know you are the most lovely woman

That have ever lived in my neighborhood

The blues for the soul

I got to find out what's goin' down

Checkin' up on my baby

And you know the poor boy got to find out what's goin' down

So many nights and days, people

Since the blues happened in my town

And you know I'm gonna love you, baby

Honey, I'm gonna love you well

I'm gonna love you, baby

Mama, and I'm gonna love you well

I'm gonna love you so good, baby

Woman, now you know no other tongue can tell

Checkin' up, checkin' up on my baby

And you know I got to find out what's been goin' down

Checkin' up on my baby

I got to find out what's been goin' down

So many nights and days

Honey, since the blues happened in my town

The blues
