Why Not Me - Live 1985

Is living proof that you can dress up in fairy tale costumes and

Do shows like this with your daughter

Let that be a lesson to each and every one of you out there that

Like us, if you're crazy and you believe in yourself, you can do it

I believe that

I've been on the road 18 years and I'm a survivor because

I wake up every day and I say, "God, why not me?"

You've been looking for love all around the world

Baby, don't you know this country girl's still free? Sing it to me

(Why not me?)

Well, you've finally come down to your old hometown—you're a freak

Patiently

Why not—? (That's why I love you, mom)

Why not me on a rainy day?

Why not me to love your cares away?

Why not me? (I'm your fairy god mother)

Why not me when the nights get cold?

Why not me when you're growing old?

Why not me?

(Okay, it's time for everyone to start swinging back and forth)

(Come on everybody)

(Each and every person in his place)

(Be good or I'll turn you into a toad)

Well, you've been searching from here to Singapore (come on)

Ain't it time that you notice the girl next door, baby? (Oh, looking good, y'all)

Why not me?

Well, you had to see if the world was round

It's time that you learned how good settling down could be

(Everybody sing the chorus with me, alright?)

Why not me? (This is the end, this is it)

Why not me on a rainy day?

Why not me to love your cares away?

Why not me?

Why not me when the nights get cold?

Why not me when you're growing old?

Why not me?

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

Oh, baby, why not me? (Keep going)

(La la la la la la la la la la la) (come on, everybody)

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

Oh, baby, why not me? (One more time)

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

(La la la la la la la la la la la)

Oh, Phoenix, Arizona, why not me? Ooh

It's time, everybody (oh, what great fun)
