That's Why I Play the Blues

Some people say

Why do you play the blues?

Some even ask me

If I paid my dues.

Tell them it's somethin'

To get me through

Everytime that I think of you.

That's why,

That's why I play the blues.

Some people wanna know

If the blues is here to stay.

Tell them I don't know,

But that it's with me every day.

Stops me from fallin'

Down to the ground

Everytime you're not around.

That's why,

That's why I play the blues.

I don't know if it's wrong or right,

But the blues is with me day and night.

Just don't ask me about the way I feel,

All I know is that the blues is real.

Tell them it's somethin'

To get me through

Everytime that I'm thinking of you.

That's why,

That's why I play the blues.

That's why I play the blues.

That's why I play the blues.

That's why,

That's why I play the blues.
