Waitin' On A Dark Eyed Gal

Well the midnight train can come and go without me

Oh I don't need no taxi back to town

I think I'll just stay right here in this deep old light

Was supposed to meet someone here tonight

Now I'm sittin here thinking

Waiting on a dark-eyed gal

No, I don't mind the rain, I never even noticed

And I don't feel the cold, it wouldn't matter any how

As a matter of fact I could stay till the break of day

I don't see as I'm in anybody's way

I'm just sittin here thinking

Waiting on a dark eyed gal

She said she'd meet me at the station

I don't believe she'll keep me waiting very long

Very long

She never was one to let me know her mind

So I'll stay right here, just doing my time

Just sitting here thinking

Waiting on a dark eyed gal

Yeah the midnight train has come and gone without me

I don't need no taxi back to town

I think I'll just stay right here in this deep old light

Was supposed to meet someone here tonight

Now I'm sittin' here thinkin'

Waitin' on a dark eyed gal

Yeah I'm just sittin' here thinkin'

Waitin' on a dark eyed gal
