Making Friends

Well, you know, I gave my baby a hundred dollars

To go downtown and pay a debt she owed

You know, the girl bought a tin man a suit of clothes

Say, I was only making friends

Yes, you know, I was only making friends

Well, you know, if it's the last thing I do

I'm gonna catch the girl doing wrong again

Well, you know, she leave home in the morning

She won't come back until night

She won't cook me no food, she still says she treat me right

Says, you know, but, I got to, got to make some friends

Well, you know, I got to make some friends

Well, you know, if it's the last thing I do

I'm gonna catch the girl doing wrong again

Let's make some friends

Well, you know, I work for you, baby

All day and night

Trying so hard to get you to treat me right

You say, you know, my dear, I been making friends

Well, you know, I been making friends

Well, you know, if it's the last thing I do

I'm gonna catch you doing wrong again
